I made my Metropolitan Opera Chorus debut in this opera at 8 months pregnant.
I still believe my daughters great sense of pitch and rhythm was the result of this Wagner masterpiece.
The costume was empire waist so not even the chorus master noticed anything unusual until I told him after the fact. He about fell over.
My daughter went on to be in the Metropolitan Opera Children’s Chorus for 5 years, playing my on-stage daughter in many operas.
